First IAAF Council meeting for 2006 |

The first IAAF Council meeting for 2006 concluded in Osaka yesterday. The meeting was very successful but was a sad occasion due to the death of General Secretary, Istvan Gyulai. 5 médailles d'or pour la france ce jour dans le grand stade Seyni Kountché. Un grand bravo à l'éternel marcheur Denis Langlois sur 20km, Salim Sdiri en longueur, Véronique Mang au 100m, encore Yves Niare au disque aprés le poids d'hier, et sur 110mhaies Cédric Lavanne. A noter, la deuxiéme place au disque du Calédonien Bertrand Vili. L'occasion pour saluer sur le site tous nos amis du cailloux. |

Week-end trés dense pour l'athlétisme tricolore. Pour la troisième année consécutive, l’équipe de France masculine a conquis le titre de Championne d’Europe de cross, cette fois-ci à Tilburg, au Pays-Bas. Et comme l’an passé, Driss Maazouzi a remporté le bronze, tandis que les féminines s’adjugeaient à nouveau la troisième place. Ouverture des jeux de la francophonie à Niamey, et premier titre pour Yves Niare au poids. |

Modification des règles de l'IAAF |

A large number of changes were made to the IAAF Technical
Rules at the 2005 Congress, it being a "technical changes" Congress.
The opportunity was also taken to make further "editorial changes".
Attached is the shorter explanatory memorandum regarding the changes to
the IAAF Competition Rules passed at the recent IAAF Congress in
Helsinki, together with some notes on implementation and related
matters.
Please note that the document has been prepared by Mr Brian Roe,
Athletics Australia, Honorary Technical Officer on behalf of the
Athletics Australia Officials' Commission and takes into account
changes, which may affect state, local and school competitions in
Australia.
For any further information on the rule changes you should refer to the
full summary of technical changes as distributed by the IAAF.
The Oceania Athletic Association would like to take this opportunity to
acknowledge and thanks Mr Brian Roe and the Athletics Australia
Officials’ Commission for the preparation of this document.
